Windows 7 Backup : System Restore First
By default Windows 7 has same capability as previous Windows version. In case you ‘feel’ current system not like a few days ago or other period you can still use System Restore.
How to access system restore in Windows 7?
Here’s step by guide how to access System Restore in Windows 7
Click start and access Control Panel.

Adjust your computer’s settings
3 options available for you :
- Review your computer’s status
- Back up your computer
- Find and fix problems
Choose ‘Review your computer’s status‘ .

Recovery
Click Recovery option as seen on the picture. This utility will help you to restore your computer to an earlier time.
Click ‘Open System Restore’ button.
I have installed crap program that promised to work as remote desktop alternative.
My intention is to go back to that time.

Restore system files and settings
System Restore provide two options :
- Recommended restore
- Choose a different restore point
If you know exactly when your system start to behave odd I suggest to choose option 2 but if you don’t you can go with option 1.

Choose ‘date and time’ where a problem came up by highlight it.
Click Next to continue.

Confirm your restore point.
Click Finish.

Click on scan for affected programs give me this result.
I don’t care about ccproxy and wampserver so I still stick to date and time I choose earlier.

Confirmation windows show up .
System restore cannot be undone until after it has completed. If System Restore is being run in safe mode or from the System Recovery Options menu, it cannot be undone.
Click Yes to continue.

Restore process will start and leave your computer during that time.

When all process done, little pop up windows will appear.
This utility help me sometime but in some condition no
System restore ONLY work with program and registry but don’t work with files. If you have valuable file such your work , design mockup, graduation photo etc you must have backup program.
