How to use Acronis Backup & Recovery : FTP backup

Local backup using acronis backup and recovery already written in previous post. In this tutorial I’ll continue with another schema that mostly used : FTP backup.

Before able to use this feature you’ll need :

  1. FTP server, see post about how to install ftp server and configure FTP server.
  2. Account to FTP server, covered in number 1.
  3. FTP client (optional) to check for file backup existent. Read post about how to install ftp client.

After all requirement setup properly you can re try backup again and switch to where to back up section.

Click on FTP servers and adjust two things :

  • Path
  • Name

Just enter IP address or hostname of FTP server and click OK.

Pop up window will display asking you to enter user name and password of FTP server, click OK.

When set properly you’ll see Backup section again and pay attention to Where to back up section.

Archive : Path: FTP, ftp://ip address

Name: Archive(1)

Continue to backup immediately by choose ‘Back up now‘ .

Wait till backup process complete, for 1,3 GB data it took 10 minute for my case, yours vary .
