Having a netbook / laptop / notebook is a must when I continue my study. Make presentation, collect data from library, fetch journal and dig information from internet are daily activity during my study.
One of problem I encounter is DNS problem, since my laptop get IP and DNS automatically from provider. OpenDNS help me alot in resolving the issue, their service uptime is fantastic.
My classroom friend asking me how to enter dns setting for his asus netbook and I promise to write that in a post. Here the steps :
1. Watch the tray, see icon of wireless connectivity.

2. Right click on the icon and choose ‘Open Network Connections‘.

3. A list of connection available for you, choose ‘Wireless Network‘. I have a Atheros AR5005G card installed.

5. Double click the icon will bring you to this dialog, choose Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

6. Change dns setting, from ‘Obtain DNS server address automatically‘ to ‘Use the following DNS server addresses‘
Enter OpenDNS IP address :
208.67.220.220
208.67.222.222

To add more than two DNS server, click button ‘Advanced‘, click tab DNS.

Click Add button and enter additional DNS server address.

After add new address, the information will display and on the right side there is a arrow for change dns server position.

7. Check if DNS server work.
Click Start -> Run, type cmd and click OK.

type command : ipconfig /all and see the result :
