I just download putty and I use it frequently so I need it in quick launch for easy access.
Yes, you may use drag drop to quick launch.

1. Its original quick launch.
2. Drop (using left click) putty.exe from desktop to quick and lauch bar to free space and release it.
3. Now you see there are 3 icons on quick and launch.
How about delete program from quick and launch?
Right click on program icon that you want to delete and choose Delete.
Confirm File Delete will ask you, are you sure you want to send putty.exe to Recycle Bin.
Click Yes to confirm it.
