How to add ‘bing’ search engine to Firefox Search List

By default Firefox 3.5 has built in facility for search. Firefox support :

  • google
  • yahoo
  • amazon
  • answers
  • creative commons
  • ebay
  • wikipedia

As shown on the picture google search engine used as default search engine.

With present of new search engine from microsoft called bing I want to add that search engine to the list.

Here’s how :

Click on little arrow near google icon to see list of supported search engine.

click on ‘Manage Search Engines…’

Check on ‘Show search suggestion’, Get more search engines…. link will shown, click the link.

New window will open, type ‘bing’ on search box and hit Enter.

Choose one, I myself prefer to get official one so I pick Bing that created by Allessandro Catorcini and Beatrice Oltean.

Click on Download Now button.

Accept and Install

Pop up window will shown ask you :

Add “bing” to the list of engines available in the search bar?

Click Add and you have new search engine “Bing” on the list.
